foldier 2.28: A deep sight in... Widget

Widget feature has been improved in last foldier's release.
For each sPression you create, you can easily access to the Widget panel, clicking on the Widget button in HOME page...

User can get the code of sPression's widget iframe to use it in HTML pages, or blog or something else; the Widget allows to show and get the sPressed items, browsing the content and it's updated every time a new element is published in the sPression.

In release 2.28, user can select also the Widget's CSS style, choosing from 'News', 'Linear', 'Simple' and the classic 'foldier style', as well as specify widget's size, items number, type and links behavior.
From the Widget Editor it's also possible to define the lenght of items' description, using different combinations (Long, Medium and Short).

foldier link bar has been improved in release 2.28!

When you 'Get it' an item in foldier, you can see the new foldier toolbar featured on top of the page.

On left a link to the profile of content's owner: you can get more detailed info, like sPressions created or followed.

In the middle the buttons to rate, to comment, to share and to publish the item: it's super-easy!

On the right a link to foldier and the 'X' button to close the bar.

Let's have a look into foldier, build 2.28, released last Sunday.
The first change is about the new HOME page.

As you can see sPress community is moved to the front and here the Most Popular and Most Recent sPressions are featured.
Click on 'Browse more' button to see more...

From HOME visitors can now search for sPressions, topics or users: look what the people are sPressing!

Login and signup panels are on the right, below you find 'The sPressionist' box and a Michael Arrington's video about the future of news reporting: watch it, you'll undestand why foldier sPress is hot and cool!

New foldier release coming today!

foldier 2.28 is scheduled to go online today, Sunday (August 9th).

The new improved version of foldier brings a lot of interesting and useful features about searching, retrieving data and of course sPressing contents.

foldier will be down for maintenance starting at 9:00 a.m. PST until around 11:00 a.m. PST.

Check foldier's blog to be updated when the upgrade is complete.

Last week foldier has been updated to release 2.27.

A lot of new functionalities have been introduced, here a quick brief on most important changes.

#1. OPEN-BETA - foldier is now in OPEN BETA release, so everyone can open an account and try its powerful services.
No invitation or special requests are needed, just register here for your account ( …yes, yes it’s free of course! ).

#2. Twitter interoperabilty - Connect foldier to your Twitter account and send outbound messages on Twitter every time you publish any item in one of your sPression in foldier.
In this way your twitter friends will be always updated on your new sPressed item!

#3. Google Docs - If you have a Google account you can now connect your Google Documents with foldier and view, manage and publish them in your sPressions. In foldier all your Google Docs remain live items and you may continue to edit them after you have posted: everytime your G-Docs will be updated, ready to be managed, shared or published by your foldier account.

#4. Suggested sources - How many time do you spend in searching for new contents or news on the web? Now foldier provides a new great service, called 'Suggested sources', by which it brings the internet and its data sources directly to your account. In fact, every sPression you create represents a specific topic of interest: foldier now analyzes users behavior and builds recommendations from around the Net, discovering new sites, RSS feeds, blog articles, images, video etc... for you!

#5. The sPressionist - As a demonstration of what you can do with foldier it has been created a new online digital newspaper:
The sPressionist. Using the widgets for a few sPressions foldier publish a daily update on the status of the evolution of Printed Media to the Digital Age.
A great example of what you can do as well… using foldier!

BAIA Italia - Genoa meeting: "WEB 2.0 – A new way to feel the web"

Hi all,
I'm very happy to announce you that on February, the 26th there will be a meeting in Genoa, Italy, about Web 2.0 and its new technologies and innovations: the topic will be about the development of new applications to manage, organize and aggregate data, informations and all resources available on internet such as videos, images, feeds and blogs using the most recent techniques as metainformation, text mining and semantic web.

The conference it's organized by BAIA and will be held in Genoa's college of engineering: special guest Mr. Michele Ursino, foldier CEO and Mr. Matteo Daste.

Here again,

I would like to show you the easiest way to organize your data on the web, using a great feature powered by foldier:

the "Add to Foldier" bookmarklet button.

This component allows you to add page links, RSS feeds, images, videos, documents, slideshow or whatever you want to your foldier account just in a second or two, to share that content to your friends (foldier users or not) and to sPress the item to your own sPression.

To use the bookmarklet just drag&drop it in your browser favourites' panel (compatible with Mozilla Firefox, IE, Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Opera), and it's ready to work.
When you find something interesting on internet just click on the "Add to Foldier" bookmarklet button, then add the content tags and description you want and press 'Submit': foldier will collect and save your data to your account, ready to be accessed, sPressed, commented and shared with your contacts.

Less than 2 secs, I can swear!
